I wasted time, and now doth time waste me
What an ironic quote of the day from The Bard. I only ran three days last week because I was juggling two book launches for my first young adult novel, Rachel’s Manifesto. And I’m available for m...

The tortoise and the hare
My quads have recovered from last week’s travelling lunges…I’ve been doing them all week trying to loosen up my thighs. They were pretty tight for the first few days. Through the miserable weath...
Sign up for a 10K? Are you nuts?
Yes, I think I am. Last night I joined the first session of an eight week running club with friends and acquaintances from my church. I have been jogging for a long time, but I’ve never run with a g...
Who needs a hospital, anyway?
It was a difficult pregnancy. Not only was I continually nauseous, but I had back pain. I was sleepless, every night tossing and turning in an effort to find a comfortable position. The baby was press...
The parable of the grapes
I wish I were a better gardener, because there is nothing in the world like the satisfaction of harvesting food that has been planted and grown in one’s own backyard—to see the magical transformat...

This morning, my oldest child headed out to her last-first day of high school. It’s hard to believe she will graduate this year, and even though I still have two more children with plenty of growing...
I’ll pencil you in

ABOUT ME
Professional Highlight Reel
I am a Moncton, New Brunswick-based freelance writer and self-publisher with 20 + years of experience in public relations writing, and promotional work for non-profit, government and business. I am a versatile communicator who focuses mostly on general business and topics of human interest. A skilled interviewer, I can distil information taken from industry experts into a digestible format for a wide range of audiences. I am currently serving as Executive Director for the Writers’ Federation of New Brunswick.
I am a born-and-raised New Brunswicker, wife of 30 years, mother to three grown-up kids. I love to paint, sing, bake, hike (after I eat what I bake). I like camping in the rain. I’d like to hike the Fundy Footpath, but I hear it’s challenging.
I love historical fiction, fantasy/science fiction, dystopian and the biographies of interesting people. And a really, really good love story never goes amiss.
Current personal project
A novel set on the Bay of Fundy, and a whole pile of half-finished short stories.
Here you can check out my books, available for purchase, and you can read my blog posts on the writing life, a little bit of fiction, plus some family & personal stuff. I hope you find something here to entertain, challenge or inspire you.
